After 3 long years, UBC Gaming Expo is finally coming back in person! Starting at 12pm, join us for a whole day of inspiring panels, creative vendors, cool cosplaying, exciting show matches, and more!
If you’re interested in anything and everything gaming, UBCEA’s Gaming Expo is the place to be.
Don’t miss out on learning from the best, diving into the esports industry, and networking with other gamers and members of the community. If that’s not enough, get a ticket to the afterparty and end the night partying with us and your friends!
UBC Gaming Expo is open to UBCEA members, UBC students, and non-students.

Getting Here
The venue is easily accessible by public transit with the R4, 44, 84, and 99 express buses all running directly to UBC’s Vancouver campus and most stops within walking distance to the Nest. For more information on transit routes and services in the area, refer to Translink’s trip planner.
UBC also offers a selection of parking lots and areas for students, staff, and visitors alike, with the University Blvd Lot being closest to the venue. Additionally, free parking is available on Marine Drive with a bit of a walk from the venue. For more information on parking areas and options, refer to UBC’s parking map (orange lots only available to students/staff with a valid permit).
FAQ
Check-in starts at 11am and the event starts at 12pm! Attendees can check-in or buy a ticket throughout the day as well as enter or exit the venue as long as they have an event badge!
Are panelists going to be in-person or virtual during the event?
All announced panelists are coming in-person to the event! Stay tuned to UBCEA’s social media to stay up-to-date on the various panels and panelists coming to the event!
Can I buy a ticket the day-of?
Yes, tickets will be sold at the entrance of the great hall on the day of the event!
Is card payment accepted at the event?
Yes, card payment will be accepted the event.
How do I connect to the UBC WiFi?
Students and faculty of UBC can use the school’s secure network to login. Additionally, students from other participating universities can use the eduroam network with their university student ID. More information on connecting to the eduroam network can be found on UBC’s website.
Visitors to UBC can connect to WiFi by selecting ubcvisitor. More information on connecting to the visitor network can be found on the UBC website.
How can I get a UBCEA membership?
UBCEA memberships can be purchased on Showpass.

Dear UBC Gaming Expo Attendee,
I hope this note finds you well, and that you’re looking forward to attending UBC Gaming Expo 2023! Here, you’ll find some important information about UBC Gaming Expo that will help make your experience fun, safe, and memorable.
CHECK-IN
In order to enter the UBC Gaming Expo venue itself, attendees are required to have a badge, which can be picked up at the check-in desk just outside the Great Hall. Check-in starts around 11:00 in the Great Hall Foyer located on the second floor, and will be available throughout the event if you plan on arriving later. Please ensure to bring a valid piece of ID to complete check-in, and have your badge visible at all times so that staff may assist you accordingly.
FLOOR PLAN
A rough floor plan of the event is pictured on the website. Please feel free to jump between rooms and be sure to check out the game activities, showcases, and Smash (on the floor above!) happening outside of the Great Hall! Washrooms are also indicated in the map below. There are four elevators in the building. You can refer to the full building floor plan to plan your arrival at the venue.
EVENT POLICY (CODE OF CONDUCT, PETS, COSPLAY ETC.)
Please take the time to read through our UBC Gaming Expo Event Policy document before attending the event. By picking up your badge and checking into the event, you are agreeing to follow the policies listed in the document. The document goes into detail with regard to photography, pets, cosplay, and more. The full UBC Gaming Expo Event Policy document can be found here (and is also linked on our website).
COVID-19 POLICY
For the safety of all of our guests, staff, and VIPs, we are highly, highly encouraging masking at UBC Gaming Expo.
If you have a mask (cloth or preferrably medical/KN94/N95), we encourage you to bring and wear it for the duration of the event. Staff will also have spare masks located at the check-in desk for those who forget to bring their own or lose theirs at the event. Hand sanitizer will be available and bathrooms are located nearby; we encourage attendees to sanitize and wash their hands often. Though we understand that it may be difficult, we also encourage guests to socially distance where possible. As a reminder, if you’re feeling unwell or are exhibiting signs of any sickness, we kindly ask that you stay home for the wellbeing of other attendees and yourself.
HAVE FUN & BE KIND
Lastly, we ask for kindness as we adapt to running our first in-person Gaming Expo in three years! Please be courteous to staff and other attendees as we all do our best to have an enjoyable day. Have fun, and be kind to each other!
